Not well acted, you say? In my opinion, it's one of the most flawless character portrayals I've seen in the last decade. FYI, Borat = British (and Jewish) comedian Sacha Baron Cohen.

So I went to the movies tonight on my night off with the wife (nanny) and went to see Borat. It was sold out till like midnight. WTF?!?! Oh and to make it worse? (and I can't emphasize how much worse) my wife made me see "Running with Scissors" because she heard it was good. OK, honestly? Worst fucking movie i've seen in years. I think I'd rather see Brokeback Mountain on the Castro while wearing village people gear than this again. It's the kind of movie that isn't just walk out and say "wow that movie sucked, what was it about again?". it's the kind of movie that sucks and you are still thinking about it 4 hours later saying OMG it's still in my fucking head. I'm sure the New Yorker critic gave it 4 stars and said "the FILM was a wonderful social commentary on the duality of the social consciousness of homosexuality and insanity in a brilliantly choregraphed script". The rest of us human beings can only say, OMG WHERE'S THE FUCKING EXIT.

I'll sum up saw 3 for those who haven't seen it:
blood + gore.

There. Now you too have seen the movie. As far as the script, acting, pacing, etc... no, it all blows major chunks. The first Saw movie was at least original (dang, they filmed it in 17 days!) and held a halfway decent plot. Now, with directors like Darren Lynn Bousman and Eli Roth, all they are attempting is to "outgore" each other. There's no film to see. Just blood and gore. Maybe you're into that, maybe you're not... but don't think you're actually going to see a movie with acting and a script.

I hear "The Prestige" is amazing, and if it is still in theatres anywhere, Jackass 2 is the funniest movie I have ever seen.

If you live in NY, you might be able to find "Renaissance", which looks AMAZING.

Prestige has a great script, and phenomenal acting. However, it is utterly predictable from beginning to end. The director (who I usually LOVE) wanted to treat the audience to a bit of foreshadowing, but... it was overwhelming and left no surprises for the audience. Your typical movie-goer may miss much of it and be pleasantly surprised, but anyone who watches a fair ammount of movies will be able to predict the ending after 10 minutes into the movie.
